The latest.....

Jack: "Can I have a drink?"

Me: "No."

Jack: "But why?" (in the whiniest voice possible)

Me: "#1-its bedtime."
"#2-you've already brushed your teeth."
"#3-you'll pee your pants tonight."

Jack: "But Mom, #1, I need a drink, cause my body is firsty."

Me: "Chelsea, just say ok in the beginning, give him a tiny drink, and and save your breath!"

Chelsea: "But why?" (In the most sincere voice possible)

Me: "#1-save yourself some stress."
"#2-save yourself the argument."
"#3-You won't pee your pants laughing at Jack's #1!"

This coming from a mom who is never potty training her child:

Just let him have a drink of water and sleep in a diaper. By the time he gets married I'm sure he'll be out of diapers.

Why is it that kids HAVE to have a drink before bed. It drives me crazy! I have started just letting them fill up one hand full in the bathroom sink and drinking that to wet their palate and that is all they get. It seems to appease them and I don't have to worry about them peeing their pants or coming back down stairs to get a cup.

Don't you love when your kids get too smart for their own good. We had that conversation the other night and Emma told me that she needed a drink so she wouldn't get dehydrated!! Seriously... I don't think they learn this stuff from their mothers :)

Haha, I can so picture this. First of all, HOW did I miss your last post? I loved it! And I told you that was a rockstar swimsuit...now you see how amazing you looked in it? Second, I miss you so much. I'm so sad that I didn't come down over Labor Day. :( When will I see you guys again? Finally, I think this is a perfect example that kids only say what they hear their parents say!! Yikes!

Argh, the day that our kids out smart us is a bad day indeed! Unfortunately for you that Jack boy is one of the smartest little guys ever. Just get ready to NEVER be right again.
