So Long, Sweet Summer

The other morning as we left the house, I realized that summer was truly winding down. Jack proclaimed that it was cold outside, and I admittedly felt a nip in the air, too. It was 68. Believe me, that is cold for us.

I'm not terribly sad to see summer coming to an end this year. It just seems that everything we do right now is a new first. Our first summer alone. Our first family trip as a family of two instead of three.....the list goes on....

Despite the sadness and newness of it all, we have had a decent summer. Jack learned to pedal his trike, we visited the zoo and Bear Lake, and spent our days off cooling off at various splash pads around St George with our friends.

I'm already looking forward to fall with some hesitancy. Jack's birthday, followed by Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are sure to bring about a gamut of emotions. I'm sure with the help and love of our family and friends, we'll get through it, too!

What a fun and eventful summer even with all its ups and downs. Fall always brings something good so I'm sure it'll be a great start.

68, freeezing! Try 43 this morning. Then you summer is at the end- I am so glad that we had the time at Bear Lake. It is my summer highlight. Not going to lie, not my favorite summer for obvious reasons. Bring on fall, fall break, birthdays, halloween, and more reasons to see you. We want to be down there where is it warm, by that I mean 68!

I have had to wait several hours after first viewing this post in order to be able to pull myself together and comment. It hurts so much for me to know your heart is broken and you feel like there is a blank page of future staring you in the face. What can I say...what can I do? Just please trust me, Chels, and know that truly...in a month or six or a year or five...you will be able to breathe normally again and you will say, "Was that my life or did it belong to someone else?" Put your faith and trust in Heavenly Father and partake of our Savior's love. If you were with me, I could put my arms around you and assure you that all will be well! I miss you!

Oh my, Jack is as big as a juvenile gorilla! Bear Lake was seriously fun. I know some of the holidays may be tough, but we can't wait for you to be with us for those days.

Oh Chelsea, Jack is just adorable! Now matter how hard things seem to be, just one look at that beautiful boy must make it worthwhile! We should get Brig and Jack together for a playdate soon!

Summer is not over yet! Please don't wish it way too fast, especially for us Northerners. Jack is so darn cute. I love all the pictures of the fun things he has been doing this summer. Chels, I know that many of the first of the summer have been hard. Too hard. But, there really are some great things about new firsts. As easy as it sound you have to think about the good things. You are so good at that, it is the only think you can do at a time like this. Love ya.
